How much does a salon franchise cost?
The estimated total initial investment for a single Dessange salon without a spa ranges from $593,450 to $840,350. When a spa is added to the franchise agreement, the initial investment is $815,700 to $1,094,600.
How long does it take to open a Dessange?
On average, you can open a new salon in 24 weeks.
Do I need to have salon experience to be a franchise owner?
No. We’re looking for experienced, savvy entrepreneurs and managers who understand how businesses work and who understand the dramatic opportunity Dessange represents in the North American market. Dessange salons are scalable, and we attract the very best talent in any given market. If you lack beauty experience as a franchise owner, you’ll hire others with experience in hair care and salon operations; all you need to do is handle the business side of things.
What are the financial qualifications to become a franchisee?
The ideal candidate would have liquid assets of $450,000. When more than one salon and spa is purchased there is a reduction of the Initial Franchise Fee.
How much is the salon franchise fee?
New franchisees pay a $55,000 franchise fee upon signing the franchise agreement. Owners who purchase more than one unit get a break on the fees, paying $40,000 in franchise fees for the second salon and $25,000 in franchise fees for subsequent salons.
How long is the franchise agreement?
We offer 10-year renewable franchising agreements.
What is the best location for a Dessange luxury hair salon franchise?
The sophisticated and worldly Dessange customer can go shopping in a high-end shopping district, boutique, pop into Louis Vuitton a few doors down and then perhaps walk over to an appointment with Dessange. Our salons work best in trend-forward lifestyle centers in urban areas with a population of 100,000 or more. We are often conveniently located near high-end neighborhoods such as the River Oaks area in Houston or Chevy Chase, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C.
How stable is the salon industry?
The $75 billion hair-care salon industry is growing at roughly 8% a year and is on pace to continue growing steadily. Women still want to look their very best whether the economy is doing well or not. It’s important to note that even during our most recent recession, luxury brands such as Dessange remained strong.
What kind of ongoing marketing support can I expect?
Dessange has a web portal for franchisees where they can order all the customized promotional materials they need, including posters, business cards and brochures. We launch two collections a year in conjunction with Paris Fashion Week that include haircuts, color trends and make-up palettes.
How can I get a copy of the Franchise Disclosure Document?
If you fill out the form to the right, a member of our franchise development staff will be in touch with you quickly for an initial conversation. You can request a copy of our FDD at that time.
Who are my main customers?
Dessange luxury salons cater to sophisticated women age 35-55, although we also attract fashion-forward male clients and families. Our clientele are not bargain-seekers. They expect to pay for the very best luxury experience — whether it’s all day in the salon and spa or an hour-long manicure appointment.
What services does Dessange offer?
We offer an array of global beauty choices, including haircuts, color, balayage, haute couture make-up, hand and foot care, skin cleansing, massage and the ultimate in hair styling, coloring and cutting.
Can I hire someone to run my beauty franchise?
Yes. If you start out with one salon, you can oversee the business part time and work your way up to full-time involvement as you add more salons. You can hire a licensed operator to manage your Dessange salons, so we’re looking for franchisees who can “manage the manager.”
